Proper Installation
Personnel
Wilson has three licensed irrigators on staff to serve your needs and ensure quality
work.
Wilson's foremen are some of the most experienced in the Austin area. Experienced
foremen have been a key to high quality, consistent installations. All of the
Wilson's foremen have been promoted from within the company and consistently promote
the company's philosophy of quality first.
Many crew members are employed seasonally and have been with the company for 5
to 10 years.
In addition to high quality leadership at the crew level, we always perform a
final check of your new sprinkler system prior to receiving payment for the job.
If you are not satisfied with the job, we will make modifications needed as
quickly as possible.
Selection of Sprinkler Type
Choosing the proper type of sprinkler for your landscape is important because
each type of sprinkler (or drip system) has different characteristics. Spray heads
perform well in smaller areas whereas rotary heads are generally more efficient
in areas exceeding 30 feet in width and length. Bubblers and low trajectory spray
heads should be used where plants have low tolerance for water contact above ground
level. The use of low volume (drip irrigation) is appropriate in certain landscape
areas; however, low volume systems typically require more monitoring and maintenance
than other types of irrigation.
Future building or landscape plans should also be considered when selecting the
sprinkler type to be used. Costs associated with modifying the sprinkler system
due to landscape or building changes can often be minimized when the sprinkler
system is properly planned to accommodate your future objectives.
Improper selection of the type of sprinkler can lead to:
Improper watering of specific plant types which can cause damage to the plants.
Waste of water.
Extensive modifications due to landscape or building changes in the future
(i.e.. deck additions, pools, additional beds).
As you can see, Quality is not just a function of the equipment used but is
attributable to the proper selection of equipment, layout of the system and proper
installation.
We take all of these factors into consideration when installing your sprinkler
system.
